Coast Region-Education & Water and Sanitation

Through its Kilifi branch, The Corporation donated water tanks, tables and chairs to Mijomboni Primary School in Coast Region. The Primary school which is located in Mijomboni sub-location, Gede location of Malinda sub- County in Kilifi County was started four years ago in 2013 by the local community when one of them donated seven (7) acres of his land to the school. Due to the distance from other existing facilities, its pupil numbers grew rapidly to 450 pupils in classes one to eight besides preschool units (KG1-3). The school sat for its class eight KCPE exams for the ?rst time in 2017 with 32 pupils having been enrolled. The leading student obtained a high score of 370 marks and was able to join one of the national schools. The Corporation also donated 10 computers to various institutions at the Coast. Six (6) computers were donated to Maugunja Primary School in Kisauni Sub- County. This is one of the schools that the Corporation supports across the country under its CSR program aimed at creating impact in the educational sector for disadvantaged children in an effort to bridge the gap in the digital divide in the region. The school is located in Mwakirungi Ward and has 450 students, many who come from needy families. The Corporation also donated two (2) computers to Mombasa County Council of Elders and two (2) computers to Youth Assembly in Mombasa for data storage and management.
