A visit to Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) & Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO)

By Harun Njago:- AFC Managing Director, Mr. George Kubai joined Agriculture CS, Mithika Linturi and other MDs under the Ministry of Agriculture to visit the Kenya Meat Commission plant in Kibarani, where the Kenya Defence Forces led by Team Leader Lt Col Martin Maluki have transformed the plant into a profit making entity. The CS urged the people of Mombasa to support the Kenya Meat Commission by purchasing quality meat from the institution in order to support local farmers, as the National Government continues to support livestock farmers by purchasing their livestock. They also visited the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) offices in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, to learn how to support industrial crop research. The Ministry is developing a policy to ensure that KALRO research reports are fully implemented by making new agriculture technologies available to local farmers as a means of improving our food security through technology.
