The European Union in Kenya

AFC with support from the European Union in Kenya commissioned a baseline survey early this year to give a deeper understanding of access to agricultural credit by Kenyan women farmers The baseline survey was carried out in 25 counties in Kenya with over 500 women interviewed. The survey is expected to be launched in late 2019.

UN Women Kenya

This year, 2019 Agricultural Finance Corporation in partnership with UN Women Kenya launched a training program for farmers in 4 Counties, Busia County, Kilifi County, Kitui County and Laikipia County The two organizations aimed at building capacity and enhancing farmers’ performance in agriculture with a view to linking them to markets as well as financial services. The program was done through AFC’s Women Affirmative Access Window (WAAW), an innovative initiative to reach out to women through training and information sharing to bridge the gap of financial exclusion
