JULIUS MUTETHIA KIOGA
Julius Mutethia is an accomplished professional with an MBA in Strategic Management from the Maastricht School of Management (MsM), the Netherlands. He is a Certified Public Accountant in good standing with ICPAK and a recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute. With over 30 years of experience at senior management levels, Julius brings extensive expertise and a proven track record across various sectors.
His core competencies include Strategic Management and Leadership, Corporate Governance, Business Restructuring and Turnarounds, Operational Efficiency, and Entrepreneurship Development.
Currently, Julius is an Independent Board Member at the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC), where he chairs the Finance, Investment, and Resource Mobilization Committee and is an active member of the Human Capital and Administration Committee, which he previously chaired. Additionally, he serves as the Chairman of the AFC Pension Scheme Board of Trustees. His performance as an independent Board Director has consistently been rated exemplary, achieving a score of 98.3% in an evaluation by the State Corporation Advisory Committee (SCAC).
He also serves as a Consultant specializing in Human Capital Recruitment, Staff and Board Training, and Business Advisory. Julius has extensive leadership experience in multinational firms and high-performing organizations within the Banking, Petroleum Oil and Gas, and Commercial sectors, where he held positions such as Finance Director, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Director. He has successfully initiated and led numerous businesses to operational excellence.
Beyond his professional roles, Julius has contributed significantly on a pro bono basis to community organizations and social clubs, including the Karen Golf and Country Club and Muthaiga Golf Club. He has led various committees such as Finance, Transformation, Procurement, Ethics and Governance, Strategic Plan Implementation, Membership, and Disciplinary Committees, among others.
